Tanteo Tequila, a distillery owned by its cooperative of agave farmers, has announced the national rollout for Tanteo Blanco Tequila.
Bottled at 85 proof, Tanteo Blanco Tequila joins the company’s existing lineup of all-natural infused expressions, including Jalapeño, Chipotle and Habanero.
All Tanteo tequilas are made from fair trade, 100% Blue Weber agave, the company says, then distilled using traditional fermentation and distillation methods.
“Our high proof blanco is the base of our spicy infusions,” explains Tanteo CEO and Master Blender Neil Grosscup. “During tours of the distillery, guests would ask if they could buy a bottle of our blanco so often that I knew we had to bring it stateside.”
On the nose, Tanteo Blanco Tequila is floral and sweet, the company says, with a hint of tropical fruits including mango, pineapple and guava. Notes of black pepper and minerality are on the palate, balanced by the sweetness of the agave.
“We specifically designed Tanteo Blanco Tequila to improve a traditional margarita, with its higher proof and perfect balance of floral, sweet agave and mineral notes mixing seamlessly,” Grosscup says.
Tanteo Blanco Tequila is now available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $39.99 per 750-ml. bottle.
